Our Fleet - Cullinan Transport

Springbok Atlas Charter owns a fleet of luxury vehicles ranging from coaches to microbuses in South Africa and Namibia. For 70 years, Springbok Atlas Charter has transported millions of people, safely and reliably, across South Africa and Namibia. Since 2013 Springbok Atlas Charter has been owned by Cullinan Holdings and is part of Cullinan Transport Division.

With over 120 year’s combined experience, Cullinan Transport has an established footprint and a solid reputation for safety and reliability ensuring guests enjoy every part of their journey with complete peace of mind.

Cullinan Transport Division is also committed to an ongoing coach fleet upgrade and replacement programme, with 12 new coaches purchased in the last two years. This makes Cullinan Transport one of the biggest buyers currently of new coaches.

Fleet

A huge fleet of over 280 vehicles ranging from 40 seater luxury coaches, open safari vehicles, microbuses and 60 seater vehicles meets all requirements.

Vehicle Maintenance

Every vehicle undergoes comprehensive pre-departure and overland checks and the service schedule (every 15 000km) ensures the highest standard of safety and reliability. All breakdowns/incidents are registered and performance stats are monitored.

Constant Tracking

Sophisticated on-board communications and tracking systems enable constant real-time contact and monitoring.

Driver Performance

Drivers undergo an ongoing performance assessment program by a full time National Driver Trainer.

Centralized Depots

Centralised depots aid the consolidation of the fleets and ensure consistent quality of maintenance and utilisation.

Insurance & Indemnity

Extensive comprehensive passenger liability insurance cover on all vehicles operated and services, and SATIB24 Incident Management.

Our History

Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris has a rich heritage of travel and touring in Africa. Our origins date back to 1946, and some of the earliest group tours to South Africa’s magnificent Kruger National Park! Over the past decades, we have built our business into one of Africa’s largest and best known tour operations. Today, Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris is a division of Cullinan Holdings., one of South Africa’s leading JSE listed Tourism and Leisure Groups, and comprises of many of Southern Africa’s leading brands in Travel and Leisure.
