• Stay at a private luxury safari lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s largest wildlife conservancies and home to around 300 bird species and 66 mammal species including Africa’s famous Big 5 and the endangered African Wild Dog.

Day One

Arrive in Cape Town and transfer to hotel. Rental vehicle delivered to hotel. Afternoon at leisure.

Day Two

Full day at leisure to explore Cape Town. Perhaps take the Cable car (weather permitting) to the top of Table Mountain. [B]

Day Three

Full day at leisure to explore Cape Town. Drive to Hout Bay, Chapman's Peak (if open) and Cape Point Nature Reserve or enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Cape Winelands. [B]

Day Four - Cape Town to Johannesburg

Early breakfast. Drive to Cape Town Airport for flight to Johannesburg. Arrive in Johannesburg and collect your rental vehicle. Drive to Madikwe Game Reserve.

Afternoon high tea followed by an open vehicle game drive. Dinner and overnight at lodge. [FI]

SANCTUARY MAKANYANE SAFARI LODGE

In the north-eastern part of the stellar Madikwe Private Game Reserve in a peaceful forest overlooking the picturesque Marico River is the charming Makanyane Safari Lodge. The exclusivity of this lodge with its eight luxurious suites each with their own large window front creates an atmosphere of intimacy and a feeling of sleeping in the wild. Enjoy open-vehicle game drives, game walks, and bush barbecues and breakfasts in the star-lit sky or early morning sun. The hides are a great place to observe the animals in their own territory, and the Star-view Sleep Out will give you a really authentic bush experience. There is also the Bush Spa for times calling for pampering and relaxation.
